While the variety of bachelor’s degrees conferred elevated by 28 percent overall between 2006–07 and 2016–17, there was substantial variation among the different fields of research, as well as shifts in the patterns of change throughout this time interval. For example, the number of degrees conferred in international languages increased 7 p.c between 2006–07 and 2011–12, but then decreased 19 % between 2011–12 and 2016–17. Also, the number of levels in social sciences and history elevated by 9 p.c between 2006–07 and 2011–12, however then decreased eleven percent between 2011–12 and 2016–17. Some different fields with sizable numbers of levels didn’t have increases through the 2011–12 to 2016–17 period.

In a number of other major fields, the variety of bachelor’s degrees increased by greater percentages within the second half of the 10-12 months interval than within the first half. The number of bachelor’s degrees conferred in the combined fields of engineering and engineering applied sciences increased 21 % between 2006–07 and 2011–12, and then elevated an extra 36 p.c between 2011–12 and 2016–17. Computer and information sciences was 12 p.c larger in 2011–12 than in 2006–07, and then increased 51 percent between 2011–12 and 2016–17.
